The parish of St Mary recorded its 20th case of murder this year when the decomposing body of an elderly farmer was found in a section of Windsor Castle in the parish on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as 60-year-old Michael Gordon, otherwise called ‘Country’, of White Spring in Windsor Castle.

Police reports are that relatives last saw Gordon alive on Tuesday, June 12.

It is further reported that on Friday morning a relative who was walking along a dirt track, smelt a foul odour and went to investigate.

Gordon’s decomposing body was discovered.

The police were summoned and upon their arrival, the body was seen with wounds to the head.

Further investigations are ongoing to establish a motive for the killing and locate the person or persons who are or were behind the farmer's death.

Last year, St Mary recorded 21 murders, which has been almost equaled by mid-June of this year with the 20th homicide on record in the parish.
