A St Mary taxi driver died after a motor vehicle, in which he was a passenger, collided with another automobile along the Spring Hill main road in the parish of Trelawny on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as 52-year-old taxi operator, Linval Clarke of Amiel Town district, St Mary.

Reports from the Falmouth police are that about 7:30 a.m., Clarke was a passenger in a white Toyota motorcar that collided with another motor vehicle along the Spring Hill main road near Duncans in Trelawny.

Clarke sustained multiple injuries and was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Personnel from the traffic division of the Falmouth Police Station are investigating the crash.

Clarke's death pushed the number of persons to have died from motor vehicle collisions in Trelawny since the start of the year to nine.
