St Mary bus conductor charged for ‘stabbing woman during dispute’

A bus conductor who allegedly stabbed a woman several times during a dispute earlier this month, has been charged by the St Mary police.

Charged with wounding with intent is 39-year-old Najah Cooper of Castleton in the parish.

He is expected to appear in the St Mary Parish Court on Tuesday, March 31, according to the police.

Reports from the Castleton police are that on Tuesday, March 17 at about 6.30 am, a dispute developed between Cooper and a woman, during which he stabbed her several times.

The woman is currently admitted in hospital in stable condition.

A probe was conducted and Cooper was subsequently arrested.

On Thursday, March 26, he was charged in relation to the incident.
