St Ann Parish Court proceedings disrupted after smoke sighting

Members of the public and staff at the St Ann Parish Court in St Ann's Bay, were on Thursday morning evacuated from the building after smoke was reportedly seen coming from a circuit breaker. 

As a result, court proceedings have been delayed.

Loop News has been informed that firefighters were alerted after the smell of the smoke was detected at the courthouse. 

The firefighters are currently conducting an inspection at the facility to determine whether the building is safe for proceedings to continue.

Meanwhile, the court management services is to take a decision on whether the hearing of cases will resume for the day.
