SSL Venture Capital led weekly gains
SSL Ventures Limited led weekly gains during trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
The stock gained 14.5 per cent to close at $1.65. It was followed by Sterling Investments up 12.3 per cent to close at $3.82. The week’s top declining stock went to ISP Finance down 30 per cent to close at $15.00.
The JSE Combined Index advanced by 812.23 points ( 0.19 per cent) to close at 436,261.66.
The JSE Index advanced by 991.95 points ( 0.23 per cent) to close at 437,486.49. The Junior Market Index declined by 9.16 points ( 0.29 per cent) to close at 3,128.34. The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 2.24 points ( 1.18 per cent) to close at 189.34. The JSE Financial Index declined by 0.41 points ( 0.37 per cent) to close at 112.13.
The overall Market activity resulted from trading in 107 stocks of which 32 advanced, 40 declined and 35 traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 315 million units valued at over $2.59 billion. Wigton Windfarm was the volume leader with 170,901,640 units (54.24 per cent) followed by Kingston Properties with 64,331,783 units (20.42 per cent) and Sagicor Group Jamaica with 20,505,886 units (6.51 per cent).
