Sponsors throw support behind Colour Me Happy Run

As the sixth staging of the Colour Me Happy Run draws closer, several sponsors have thrown their support behind the race that is described as the “funnest run in Jamaica.”

Many of the sponsors have been onboard since the race’s inception, including the Guardsman Group, MacMillan Advertising, Mailpac Services Ltd, Mayberry Investments Ltd, Restaurants of Jamaica Ltd, Starlight Productions Limited, The Gleaner Company (Media) Limited, Wisynco Group and Jamaica Moves who has returned as a Race Partner.

Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr Chris Tufton, commented; "We are very pleased to be a part of the Colour Me Happy 5K Run for yet another year. The Jamaica Moves campaign promotes wellness through proper nutrition, health checks & daily physical activity in the fight to reduce the risk of developing a non-communicable disease, and so we appreciate and fully endorse any fun and engaging activity that gives our children and the wider population equal opportunity to be physically active."

Jamaica Moves is the country’s coordinated national response to the increased incidences of NCDs. Through education, engagement and the building of supportive environments, the campaign hopes to reduce NCDs by 25 per cent by the year 2025.

Meanwhile, Suwannee Caine, Manager, Marketing & Sponsorships at The Gleaner Company (Media) Limited, said; “The Colour Me Happy Run has become a staple activity for us; it’s a very fun and colourful race that our staff looks forward to every year.” Caine continues, “At the heart of it, however, it’s an easy decision for us to continue supporting this race because of what it stands for. The Gleaner Company (Media) Limited is committed to playing our part in building the capacity in Jamaica through education at all levels and we’re very proud of the work that the Kind Hearts Foundation continues to do in building infant schools in rural communities with the funds raised from the race.”

According to Christina Hudson, Director of Kind Hearts Foundation: “We are extremely heartened and grateful to all our sponsors who continue to see the value in the work we’re doing and partner with us each year to host the Colour Me Happy Powder Charity Run. We’ve completed a total of seven basic schools across the island and we’re looking forward to building our eighth school in 2020. We simply could not have done this without our fabulous sponsors, and we’re using this opportunity to say thanks to each of them ahead of the race.”

Other sponsors of the race include Barita Investments Ltd., Burger King, CIBC First Caribbean International Bank, Easel Media, Fifth Avenue Traders Ltd., General Accidents Insurance Co. Ja. Ltd, ICWI, Iron Rock Insurance, IYA Ltd., Luna Ideation, Phoenix Printery, Rubis Energy Ja.
