South Africa lose 9 wickets for 28 runs in Windies defeat
South Africa incredibly lost nine wickets for 28 runs on their way to a defeat against West Indies in the Women's World T20 on Wednesday at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St Lucia.
Chasing 108 for victory in Group A, South Africa appeared on track at 48 for one just over halfway through their innings.
However, they were stunningly bowled out for 76 as the Windies defended their 107 for seven to claim their second win from as many games.
Stafanie Taylor – who led West Indies to the 2016 title – was the hero, taking four wickets for 12, as only Marizanne Kapp (26) and Lizelle Lee (24) were able to reach double figures for South Africa.
The day's other game saw Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh by 25 runs for their first victory of the tournament.
