SOS stock hits record high
Stationary and Office Supplies Limited (SOS) gained 12 per cent to close at a record high $7 after Thursday's trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
The stock listed at $2.00 in August last year, becoming the 32nd company to list on the Junior Market.
In the meantime, Berger Paints led trading gains on Thursday, up 14 per cent to close at $22.87.
JMMB preference shares was the day's big loser, down nine per cent to $1.00.
The JSE Combined Index declined by 148.29 points ( 0.05 per cent) to close at 306,927.60.
The JSE Index advanced by 22.32 points ( 0.01 per cent) to close at 299,198.19.
The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index advanced by 24.50 points ( 0.01 per cent) to close at 328,387.59.
The JSE Select Index declined by 31.23 points ( 0.35 per cent) to close at 8,948.62.
The Junior Market Index declined by 15.45 points ( 0.53 per cent) to close at 2,917.69.
The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 8.87 points ( 5.09 per cent) to close at 165.29.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 49 stocks of which 19 advanced, 21 declined and 9 traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 7,028,074 units valued at over $131.6 million. JMMB Group Limited was the volume leader with 2,027,120 units (28.84 per cent) followed by WISYNCO with 1,193,538 units (16.98 per cent) and Caribbean Cement Company Ltd. with 979,272 units (13.93 per cent).
