SOS led gains on Thursday
Stationery and Office Supplies Limited (SOS) led gains Thursday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
SOS gained 10.07 per cent to close at $4.92, followed Honey Bun (1982) Limited (HONBUN) up 9.64 per cent to close at $4.55. The day’s top loser went K.L.E. Group Limited (KLE) down 22.60 per cent to close at $2.50.
The JSE Combined Index advanced by 1,940.10 points (0.70 per cent) to close at 279,173.82. The JSE Index advanced by 2,411.46 points (0.91 per cent) to close at 267,126.05. The Junior Market Index declined by 26.31 points (0.85 per cent) to close at 3,079.61.
The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 4.53 points (2.48 per cent) to close at 187.14. Overall market activity resulted from trading in 54 stocks of which 25 advanced, 23 declined and 6 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 8,467,343 units valued at over $99,361,722.54. K.L.E. Group Limited was the volume leader with 2,221,500 units (26.24 per cent) followed by Jamaica Broilers Group with 1,846,484 units (21.81 per cent) and Cable & Wireless Jamaica Limited with 686,724 units (8.11 per cent) .
