Social Media Spotlight: YouTube, Instagram fuel 'One Romone' brand

Social media has long outgrown its stigma of “something that young people use to waste time,” as it is now a lucrative avenue for brand building and income generation. This is evident in the countless local persons who have gained popularity and built a brand by utilizing the various platforms.
One such person is Romone Robinson, the 23 year old behind the One Romone brand which is known for comedy videos on social media.
The brand started four years ago with the “Rom 1 TV” channel on YouTube, and quickly grew in popularity due to the highly engaging and easily relatable content. Building on the success of his YouTube channel, he then branched off into posting his videos on Instagram which grew his following even more, and also caught the attention of many corporate brands locally.
One Romone’s Youtube channel currently has over 400,000 video views and an Instagram following of 70,000.
