Six-month fetus found in downtown Kingston

Detectives in the Kingston Central Police Division are investigating the discovery of a fetus along a roadway in downtown Kingston on Tuesday.

The remains of the fetus were reportedly found on Maiden Lane on Tuesday morning.

Reports are that about 7:00 a.m., community members were surprised to see a dog carrying the remains of the fetus along the lane.

The residents intervened, got the dog to drop the human remains, and summoned the police.

The police, upon arrival, noted the find and took the remains to the hospital, where it was confirmed to be approximately six months’ old.

The remains were later taken to the morgue for a post-mortem examination to be done.

The Central CIB is conducting further investigation into the discovery.
