'Silent Man' charged with downtown Kingston murder

The Kingston Central police have made a breakthrough into a fatal shooting that occurred in downtown Kingston late last month.
Charged with murder in relation to the incident is 29-year-old Lascelles Peart, otherwise called 'Silent Man', of Love Lane in downtown Kingston.
He has also been charged with shooting with intent, illegal possession of firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.
The police reported are that on Tuesday, March 31, a man - Kemar Tomlinson – was approached by another male with a handgun, who opened gunfire, resulting in injuries to victim’s upper body that led to death.
The suspect – Peart - reportedly escaped on foot in the area, but was later apprehended by investigators.
A date for his appearance in court to answer to the charges is still being finalised by the police.
