Shock and anger as sledgehammer is used to kill woman in Kgn West
The body of a female was found in a house with the head bashed in and a rope around her neck in Admiral Town in the Kingston Western Police Division on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Tavia Taylor of Torrington Park.
Reports are that about 11.30 am, residents stumbled upon the body and summoned the police.
On their arrival, law enforcers found Taylor lying on a bed with a wound to her face and a rope tied around her neck.
A sledgehammer was also found close to the body.
The gruesome discovery has left residents in the area in shock and anger.
Police from the Denham Town station have since launched an investigation into the discovery.
Detectives are appealing to anyone with information that can assist in the investigation to contact the Denham Town police at 876-948-6443, the police 119 emergency number, or the nearest police station.
Only weeks ago, the body of a female was found in a barrel on a handcart that was being pushed by youngsters at the intersection of Pechon and Beckford streets, also in the Kingston Western Police Division.
Police theorised that the victim was killed elsewhere and her body was on the way to being dumped when a police team’s suspicion was aroused by the behaviour of the youngsters who were pushing the handcart. Upon being accosted by the cops, the youngsters ran off and made good their escape.
A search of the barrel on the handcart revealed the woman’s body which had been stuffed in the barrel.
It is believed that the victim who was from Denham Town, was killed as a result of a major gang feud in the community.
