Shineka Gray murder trial to start November 19

November 19 has been set as the start date for the trial of the two men who have been charged with the murder of Green Pond High School student, 15-year-old Shineka Gray.

They are Gregory Roberts and Mario Morrison.

The date was set on Friday when the two men appeared in the St James Circuit Court.

The prosecution expects to call 21 witnesses during the trial.

Gray was found dead in bushes in the Irwin community on February 1, 2017, three days after she was reported missing. Her body had multiple stab wounds.

She was last seen alive in Montego Bay, on her way home from the funeral of a schoolmate.

Following intense police investigations, Roberts and Morrison were arrested and charged with Gray’s murder. Her brutal killing drew condemnation from a wide cross section of the society.
