Seprod shares tumble during Thursday’s trading
Shares in Seprod Limited (SEP) tumbled on Thursday ahead of the float of new shares.
Seprod led declines on the market, down 16.39 per cent to close at $28.98 with over 616,200 units traded hands. The declines followed the release of financials but also comes ahead of a plan to dilute the shareholding in a sale of new shares at $23.99.
The top stock for the day went to FosRich Company Limited (FOSRICH) up 14.88 per cent to close at $3.86.
The JSE Combined Index declined by 389.00 points (0.11 per cent) to close at 361,704.13 and the JSE Index declined by 272.83 points (0.08 per cent) to close at 355,788.24.
Meanwhile, the Junior Market Index declined by 12.58 points (0.39 per cent) to close at 3,173.81. The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 3.13 points (1.92 per cent) to close at 159.65.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 60 stocks of which 16 advanced, 37 declined and 7 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 4,731,258 units valued at over $83.48 million. Jamaica Producers Group Limited was the volume leader with 650,876 units (13.76 per cent) followed by Seprod Limited with 616,205 units (13.02 per cent) and 1834 Investments Limited with 443,270 units (9.37% per cent).
