Seprod led double-digit gains during Tuesday's trading
Seprod shareholders benefitted from a double-digit gain in its share price on Tuesday to close at a record high.
Ciboney gained 23 per cent on the day to close at $0.16 but it remains largely illiquid.
The real gains happened with Seprod up 16 per cent on the day to close at $45.12 with 369,936 units trading.
Year-to-date it grew 50 per cent offering investors a chance to put big sums in and cash out this liquid stock.
The day’s biggest loser was Jetcon down 16 per cent to $2.58 followed by Caribbean Flavours and Fragrance down 15 per cent to $16.58.
The JSE Combined Index advanced by 2,726.57 points (0.71 per cent) to close at 386,469.87. The JSE Index advanced by 3,398.24 points (0.89 per cent) to close at 383,952.65. The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index advanced by 3,739.64 points ( 0.90 per cent) to close at 421,424.01. The Junior Market Index declined by 35.86 points (1.15 per cent) to close at 3,073.96. The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 3.01 points (1.76 per cent) to close at 174.10.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 64 stocks of which 26 advanced, 30 declined and 8 traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 18,945,630 units valued at over $101.5 million. Pulse Investments was the volume leader with 901,239 units (4.76 per cent) followed by Fontana Limited with 844,663 units (4.46per cent) and Ciboney Group with 607,166 units (3.20per cent).
