Seprod Foundation on Tuesday handed over some $400,000 worth of products including food and personal items to staff members of the Jamaica National Children's Home which was damaged by fire recently.

It is not determined what caused the fire which destroyed sections of the facility, which housed 41 children.

The Jamaica Fire Brigade estimated the loss to the property at $150 million.

Following the fire, Prime Minister Andrew Holness committed that his administration will be acting swiftly to rebuild the children's home, located in Papine, St Andrew.

None of the wards was hurt in the fire.

Reports are that at about 5:00 p.m., persons passing the area saw smoke coming from a section of the premises and raised an alarm.

A team of firefighters arrived at the location and after several hours of battling the blaze, they managed to extinguish the fire.
