Seniors under siege in Clarendon: 3 among 4 murdered there in two days
Two senior citizens and a man on the periphery of that age group, were among four persons who were killed or found dead in three separate incidents in Clarendon over a 24-hour period late last week.
In the first incident, a burnt human torso was discovered by residents at Inverness Gardens, Sandy Bay in the parish at about 3:30 pm on Thursday.
The torso was reportedly confirmed to be of a human at the May Pen Hospital, it was taken for examination.
The remains are believed to be of a man who was reported missing from Inverness Gardens.
A suspect was reportedly taken into custody in connection with the discovery of the burnt torso.
On Friday, a relative found an elderly family member with stab wounds at his house in the Four Paths area of Clarendon.
The deceased man has been identified as 71-year-old Robert Paris, who was of Howell's Content in Four Paths.
Reports are that about 4:30 p.m., a relative went to Paris' home and discovered him lying on a floor in a pool of blood.
The police were alerted and on their arrival, it was discovered that Paris had multiple stab wounds.
He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
In another incident on Friday night, two men were killed by a lone gunman during a shooting a bar in Sandy Bay, in which another person was also injured.
The deceased men have been identified as 74-year-old Vincent Johnson and 57-year-old Alfred Jones, both of Sandy Bay.
Reports are that at about 8:30 pm, both men were among a group of persons at a shop along the Sandy Bay main road, when a man armed with a gun entered.
He opened gunfire, hitting three of the persons, before escaping from the scene.
The injured persons were transported to the hospital, where Johnson and Jones were pronounced dead.
The other injured person was treated and released.
The police are investigating the four latest homicides to rock the troubled parish.
