Senior citizen dies in Trelawny crash; second within a week
A pensioner died as a result of injuries he sustained when he was hit by a motorcar on the roadway in Trelawny on Tuesday afternoon.
Dead is 75-year-old Mannassie Hall of Peel Street, Falmouth, Trelawny.
Reports are that the elderly man was standing along Peel Street, when he was hit by a motorcar, after the driver reportedly swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle on the roadway.
He was rushed to hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.
Personnel from the Traffic Division, who are based at the Falmouth Police Station, are investigating the incident, and will be questioning the driver who was involved
The deceased in that case was identified as 61-year-old labourer, Clive Kerr of a Hague, Trelawny address.
Reports were that about 11:00 a.m., Kerr was riding his bicycle along the Hague main road, heading towards Falmouth, when he was mowed down by an unknown motorist.
The injured man was taken to the Falmouth Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The hit-and-run driver remains on the run.
