School feeding programme expanded to five days per week

The Government has expanded the national school feeding arrangements through the Programme of Advancement through Health and Education (PATH), from three to five days weekly.

Education Minister Ruel Reid announced the change during a statement he made in the Senate on Friday.

He also announced that a programme of training for principals and teachers under the new education curriculum, has been completed.

Under the new arrangements, emphasis is to be placed on project-based and problem-solving learning.

Senator Reid also said focus will also be placed on science, technology, engineering and arts, which are to be integrated at all levels.

He said the new curriculum I intended to enhance the learning capabilities of the nation’s children overall.
