Saturday race meet postponed over virus fears

Saturday's horse-racing meet at Caymanas Park has been rescheduled for next Wednesday after the Ash Wednesday meet was hit with 17 non-runners, 14 of which were reportedly caused by a virus causing horses to show signs of fever.

Near the end of Wednesday's 11-race card, Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited announced that Saturday's meet was postponed until next Wednesday, "due to insufficient entries".

Trainers withdrew their mounts on the holiday meet, affecting races four, nine, 10 and 11, with two non-runners apiece
