SAME STORY, DIFFERENT PARISH: Big ganja bust in Westmoreland

The Westmoreland police have taken two men into custody in connection with the seizure of about 1,000 pounds of compressed ganja in the parish on Tuesday night.

The police have, however, withheld the identities of the two men.

Reports are that about 11:00 p.m., the police conducted operations in Beeston Spring in the parish, where a Toyota Hiace bus was stopped.

During a search of the vehicle, compressed ganja amounting to approximately 1,000 pounds was reportedly discovered.

The driver and another occupant of the vehicle were arrested.

The Whitehouse police are investigating the seizure.
