Salada Foods Jamaica led gains on Monday's trading session of the Jamaica Stock Exchage (JSE) in a day marked by twice as many losers than winners.
Salada gained 10 per cent to close at 11 with just 220 units trading. However 1834 Investments declined 11.33 per cent to $1.33. While Mayberry Investments declined 10.5 per cent to close at $4.54.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 47 stocks of which 14 advanced, 25 declined and 8 traded firm.
The JSE Combined Index declined by 2,381.77 points (0.94 per cent) to close at 251,262.48. The JSE Index declined by 2,131.35 points (0.90 per cent) to close at 235,325.03. The Junior Market Index declined by 39.21 points (1.21 per cent) to close at 3,214.31. The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 0.45 points (0.23 per cent) to close at 200.45.
The bulk of the market volume (95.14 per cent) went to Caribbean Producers Jamaica Limited with a massive 111,527,530 units trading. It was followed by JMMB Group Limited 7.50 per cent with 1,902,400 units (1.62 per cent) and Radio Jamaica Limited with 936,672 units (0.80 per cent).
