Salada up nearly 13% to lead JSE gains
Salada Foods (SALF) led gains in Friday's trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
SALF gained 12.6 per cent to close at $12 from a thin trade of 300 units, while Caribbean Producers Jamaica gained 8.5 per cent to close at $4.60.
The day's top declining stock was Mayberry, down 15 per cent t0 $5.07, followed by 1834 Investments, down 11.5 per cent to $1.23 and Jetcon, down 11 per cent to $4.22.
The JSE Combined Index declined by 739.90 points ( 0.25 per cent) to close at 295,194.98. The JSE Index declined by 985.23 points ( 0.34 per cent) to close at 286,637.56. The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index declined by 1,081.34 points ( 0.34 per cent) to close at 314,601.51. The Junior Market Index advanced by 15.60 points ( 0.54 per cent) to close at 2,901.06. The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 0.05 points ( 0.03 per cent) to close at 174.09.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 50 stocks of which 20 advanced, 24 declined and six traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 7,066,510 units valued at over $173.5 million. Jamaica Money Market Brokers Ltd 7.50% was the volume leader with 1,260,698 units (17.84 per cent) followed by NCB FINANCIAL GROUP with 1,249,021 units (17.68 per cent) and WISYNCO with 741,658 units (10.50 per cent) .
