Salada Foods led double-digit gains during Monday’s trading
Salada Foods Jamaica led double-digit gains on Monday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) to return to an all-time high.
Salada gained 27 per cent to close at $15.89. The stock initially hit an all-time high on May 29 but waned in price before returning to current levels.
It was followed by Derrimon Trading up a further 14 per cent to close at $23.50. While Blue Power group gained 11 per cent to close at an even $40.
The day’s top declining stock went to GWest down 6.4 per cent to close at $2.20.
The JSE Combined Index advanced by 520.72 points (0.16 per cent) to close at 319,456.32. The Junior Market Index advanced by 13.46 points (0.44 per cent) to close at 3,106.56. The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 3.05 points (2.11 per cent) to close at 147.76.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 58 stocks of which 23 advanced, 27 declined and 8 traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 4,013,308 units valued at over $36,996,852.01. Lasco Financial Services Limited was the volume leader with 1,070,500 units (26.67per cent) followed by Radio Jamaica Limited with 649,627 units (16.19per cent) and Carreras Limited with 596,249 units (14.86 per cent)
