Sagicor Foundation supports USAID Early Reading Conference

Sagicor Foundation was a proud supporter and sponsor of the Early Reading Conference hosted by United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Latin America and the Caribbean READS Capacity Programme.

The fulsome conference was held at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on Thursday and featured workshops, presentations and a kiddies’ village under the theme, “Get Reading- Right from the Start!”

The all-day event featured international, regional and local experts in the educational field, who made guided and interactive sessions to over 300 early grade practitioners, parent representatives, student-teachers and classroom teachers from across the island.

Education is one of the focuses of Sagicor Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Sagicor Group Jamaica. The foundation operates its own early childhood initiative, the Adopt-A-School Programme which is set to adopt three new schools in October for the 2018-2019 academic school year.
