RSPL: Waterhouse hold Montego Bay to 2-2 draw in rescheduled game
Kemar Beckford scored a double as Waterhouse picked up an away point following a 2-2 draw against Montego Bay United in their rescheduled Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) match at Wespow Park on Thursday.
Beckford scored his first goal in the 36th minute to put the visitors ahead, but Ronaldo Rodney pulled the struggling former champions level four minutes later as the sides went to the break all square.
Playing with more purpose in the second half, Montego Bay United took the lead in the 66th minute through Lesly St. Fleur and seemed to be on their way to only their sixth win of the season. However, it was not to be as Beckford scored his second in the 82nd minute to see Waterhouse share the points.
The result means that the teams maintain their positions in the 12-team competition. Waterhouse have now moved to 32 points from 23 games to hold down fifth-place, while Montego Bay United (10th-place) improved to 24 points from 22 games, just eight points above the relegation zone.
Potmore United are leading the standings with 47 points, a three-point lead over second-place and defending champions Arnett Gardens.
