‘Rock that hair’ - Kingston women celebrate natural

Over 150 women turned out Sunday afternoon to the Natural Sisters Meet Up held at the Carnegie Centre, New Kingston Shopping Mall.

The event celebrated the local natural hair movement, and featured discussions around growing and maintaining natural hair, as well as lifestyle habits for healthy skin and hair.

It was Hair Skin Love Jamaica’s fourth Meet Up for 2017.

Among the presenters were vegan food blogger, Jessica Hylton-Leckie.

Presentation topics included Traction Alopecia, Eczema of the Scalp, repairing damaged hair and best practices for transitioning by Hair Skin Love Jamaica’s Co-Founders, Joni Williams and Georgina Johnson-Jones.

There was also a performance by Jamaican Choreographer, Christina Gonzalez.

Patrons received great giveaways, and over 10 exhibitors showcased various products, ranging from locally made natural cosmetic products to healthy smoothies.

The Natural Sisters Meet Up was sponsored by Loop Jamaica, Nicole’s Beauty and Barber Supplies, Corporate DNA, Nutraganics Hair and Skin Care, Phoenix Grill and Livity Marketing.
