Be careful when you walk in the vicinity of Grove Road and Half Way Tree Road in the Corporate Area.

That is a warning being issued by persons who frequent that section of the city. The allegations are that a band of unruly male prostitutes have been staging armed robberies and have injured several persons there for months now.

One victim of the robbers has complained that despite not resisting their attempts to relieve him of his cell phone and cash, the robbers still slashed him before scampering off.

The man said he was making his way home from work about 9:00pm last Friday when the men pounced on him.

“About five of them move towards me. All of them have some big knife and demand my phone and wallet. Me couldn’t do anything so me give them. It was right near a gully across from the hospital. Even though me give them two of them still cut me before the run and jump in the gully,” the man,  told Loop News.

Another victim told Loop News that he was spared from injury after a licensed firearm holder came upon him being robbed and chased the robbers off. As is their style, they took to the gully for refuge.

The same set of robbers are said to be traversing a section of Half Way Tree close to the Transportation Centre.

These robbers wait until the area gets less populated at night and set upon unsuspecting victims and relieve them of their valuables. And of course they are thirsty for blood and almost always slash or stab their victims.

Their victims claim the robbers are suspected to be the remnants of a set of male prostitutes who once hung out at a gully in New Kingston, but were chased away due to a relentless campaign by the New Kingston Police.
