Rihanna pays tribute to her cousin killed on Boxing Day

Barbadian international superstar Rihanna, has been thrown into mourning, following the death of her cousin on Boxing Day.

This after police reported that 21-year-old Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne, was shot dead while walking through a track near his Eden Lodge, St. Michael home last night.

The philanthropist who was recently honoured when her childhood community, Westbury New Road, was renamed Rihanna Drive, took to Instagram to express her sorrow at her cousin's passing, while focusing on getting a positive message across through the hashtag #endgunviolence:

"RIP cousin... can't believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms! never thought that would be the last time I felt the warmth in your body!!! Love you always man! 😢🙏🏿❤ #endgunviolence," she wrote.

Many of her followers offered their condolences and stood in solidarity with her by using that hashtag:
