The Registrar General’s Department (RGD) on Thursday held an informal appreciation function to recognise its staff members who collectively played an integral role in the recovery of the baby which was stolen from the Victoria Jubilee Hospital (VJH) in January.

During the function, the staff members were presented with gift baskets and gift certificates.

A Special Recognition Award was also presented to the staff member who had direct contact with the person who went to the office at Twickenham Park in St Catherine to register the baby.

The RGD’s Acting Deputy CEO, Desmond Davis, congratulated the staff members for being vigilant and meticulous in conducting their duties.

The RGD also thanked a number of corporate sponsors which came on board and helped to make the event a success. The sponsors included Grace Foods, Kirk Distributors-Colgate, LASCO, GASPRO, Best Dressed Foods and Charles Chocolate, which provided gift baskets, certificates and other items.
