Regus Caribbean on Tuesday launched an office at the PanJam Building in New Kingston, its first in Jamaica and third in the region.

PanJam Investment (PanJam) announced in October its acquisition of a 25 per cent stake in Williams Offices (Caribbean) Regus’ Franchise Partner in the region.

"The investment represents our confidence in the region’s future and we believe it will contribute to our pursuit of creating long-term shareholder value," PanJam said.

Outfitted with the latest technology, the company boasts that it will meet the needs of both small and large businesses. Its network of flexible workspace solutions enables businesses to operate anywhere, without the need for set-up costs or capital investment.

According to Mark Linehan, Managing Director of Regus Caribbean,Regus Jamaica clients will be able to tap into other facilities around the globe operated by Regus.

"One of the differentiators for Regus is the benefits that accrue to our clients from being part of the Regus global network. Not only can clients access all Regus' 3,300 business lounges across the world, but they are able to register their business on Regus Marketplace, which gives them access to customers across the globe," Linehan said.

He added: “Our objectives with this centre was to create a world-class working environment where businesses large and small could come and do what they do best and we at Regus look after the rest.”

Regus has invested heavily in a world-class IT infrastructure from Cisco, HP, Dell and Canon. High-speed Wi-Fi exists throughout the centre and multiple dedicated data points are brought to each office with CAT6 cabling, Linehan said.

Meanwhile, Minister without portfolio in the Ministry of Finance and Public Service, Fayval Williams said Regus' entrance into the Jamaican market is timely, as the growth in the economy will provide opportunities for new and existing businesses.

“This new Regus centre will be a great addition to the business landscape of Kingston, allowing smaller businesses to work alongside larger global businesses in a modern state-of-the-art facility,” Williams said.

"This is another sign of the continued momentum we see in the growing Jamaican economy and I would like to wish Regus success not only in New Kingston but as it takes its brand across Jamaica," Williams said.
