Jamaica catapulted to the top of Group C of League B in the Concacaf Nations League with a 6-0 win over Antigua and Barbuda on the opening day of action on Friday night at the Montego Bay Sports Complex.

Shamar Nicholson led the victory charge with a double strike.

Antigua and Barbuda had a great opportunity early in the match but Carl Osbourne was denied by Jamaican goalkeeper Andre Blake.

A Blake goal kick would then be headed on by Bayer Leverkusen's Leon Bailey to find Nicholson in the box for the opening goal in the ninth minute.

Bailey then set up the second goal for the Reggae Boyz, flying through the right flank then driving inside the box to find the debutant UK-based Bobby Reid in the 31st minute.

Nicholson found the back of the net for a second time in the 51st minute to extend Jamaica’s lead to 3-0

Brian Brown joined the scoresheet in the 67th minute to push Jamaica to 4-0.

Bailey added a fifth goal for the home side in the 77th minute, while Peter Vassell added the sixth goal in the 81st minute.

Over in Curacao, Guyana picked up a 1-0 win over Aruba in the other Group C fixture at the Ergilio Hato Stadium in Willemstad to join the Reggae Boyz on three points. However, the Reggae Boyz are leading the group courtesy of goal difference.

Sheldon Holder scored the lone goal of the match in the 22nd minute.

The Reggae Boyz depart the island on Saturday for their second game against Guyana on Monday at 6:00 pm.

The Concacaf Nations League serves as the qualifying pathway for the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup, for all 41 Member Associations.
