Quallo in a jam at work, still awaiting his final paperwork - sources

Police Commissioner, George Quallo

Police Commissioner, George Quallo

Despite reports that Police Commissioner, George Quallo, should have demitted office on Wednesday, Loop News has learnt that all has not been finalised for him to officially start his retirement, and he reported to work on Thursday.

Sources close to the commissioner's office reported that Quallo turned up for work despite reports that Deputy Commissioner Clifford Blake was to start acting in the position, beginning on Thursday.

Sources disclosed that leading up to his reported departure, Quallo has not received the all-important letter from the Police Service Commission, officially stating that his tenure was to end on Wednesday.

The sources maintained that the last communication that came to the police commissioner relative to his tenure, indicated that he was to demit office in August.

When contacted by Loop News on Thursday afternoon, Commissioner Quallo declined to comment at length on the uncertainty surrounding his departure.

"I am watching to see what is happening," was the extent of his comment.
