Purity led gains during Wednesday’s trading
Consolidated Bakeries (Purity) led gains on Wednesday's trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
Purity gained 35 per cent on the day to close at $2.70, followed by CAC2000 Ltd up 9.4 per cent which closed at $8.00. While Express Catering declined 5.6 per cent to $4.51.
The JSE Combined Index declined by 1,284.82 points (0.44 per cent) to close at 289,259.74. The JSE Index declined by 1,220.52 points (0.43 per cent) to close at 282,508.36.
The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index declined by 1,339.60 points (0.43 per cent) to close at 310,069.48. The JSE Select Index declined by 45.41 points (0.54 per cent) to close at 8,287.42.
The Junior Market Index declined by 14.95 points (0.55 per cent) to close at 2,702.60. The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 0.19 points (0.11per cent) to close at 168.75.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 50 stocks of which 11 advanced, 24 declined and 15 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 4,738,877 units valued at over $57,910,688.78. WISYNCO was the volume leader with 981,918 units (20.72 per cent) followed by Victoria Mutual with 864,709 units (18.25 per cent) and GWEST with 604,000 units (12.75 per cent).
