Purity led gains during Tuesday's trading
Consolidated Bakeries (Jamaica) Limited (PURITY) led gains during Wednesday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
PURITY gained 14.94 per cent to close at $2.00, followed by Eppley Limited (EPLY8.25), up 11.11 per cent to close at $10.00.
The day’s largest declining stock was Pulse Investments Limited (PULS), down 14.56 per cent to close at $2.70.
The JSE Combined Index declined by 4,509.15 points (1.18 per cent) to close at 377,865.99. The JSE Index declined by 4,611.43 points (1.22 per cent) to close at 372,766.94. The Junior Market Index declined by 24.90 points (0.77 per cent) to close at 3,225.44. The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 1.33 points (0.81 per cent) to close at 162.34.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 63 stocks of which 31 advanced, 25 declined and 7 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 13,756,945 units valued at over $113,551,823.03. Fontana Limited was the volume leader with 9,706,020 units (70.55 per cent) followed by Scotia Group Jamaica Limited with 358,092 units (2.60 per cent) and Wisynco Group Limited Ordinary Shares with 330,358 units (2.40 per cent).
