Purity and Jamaican Teas led gains during Tuesday's trading

Consolidated Bakeries (Purity) and Jamaican Teas led gains during Tuesday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
Purity closed at $1.99 up 16 per cent followed by Jamaican Teas up 15 per cent to close at $7.00. Leading declines was Blue Power, down 8.7 per cent to $7.70.
The JSE Combined Index advanced by 718.88 points ( 0.14 per cent) to close at 514,330.99 and the JSE Index advanced by 855.82 points ( 0.17 per cent) to close at 517,818.91.
The Junior Market Index declined by 6.22 points ( 0.18 per cent) to close at 3,514.69 while the JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 1.48 points ( 0.77 per cent) to close at 194.36.
The JSE Financial Index advanced by 1.06 points ( 0.75 per cent) to close at 141.59.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 64 stocks of which 22 advanced, 34 declined and 8 traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 28,539,623 units valued at over $351 million. Supreme Ventures was the volume leader with 10,047,553 units (35.21per cent) followed by Wigton Windfarm with 6,993,373 units (24.50per cent) and Sagicor Select with 6,665,393 units (23.35per cent) .
