Pulse, Purity led gains during Thursday’s trading
Pulse Investments and Consolidated Bakeries (Purity) led double-digit gains during Thursday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
Pulse gained 13 per cent to close at $2.97. It was followed by Purity which gained 10.6 per cent to close at $1.99 on the day.
Meanwhile, 138 Student Living led declines down 7.85 per cent to close at $3.69.
The JSE Combined Index declined by 550.68 points (0.14 per cent) to close at 388,670.94. The JSE Index declined by 859.61 points (0.22 per cent) to close at 385,889.36. The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index declined by 945.97 points (0.22 per cent) to close at 423,553.19. The Junior Market Index advanced by 21.66 points (0.70 per cent) to close at 3,112.32. The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 0.08 points (0.04 per cent) to close at 179.86.
The JSE Financial Index declined by 0.39 points (0.39 per cent) to close at 98.43.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 59 stocks of which 31 advanced, 21 declined and 7 traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 13,771,199 units valued at over $131 million. LASCO Manufacturing Limited was the volume leader with 10,052,000 units (72.99 per cent) followed by Supreme Ventures with 566,003 units (4.11per cent) and Proven Investments US dollar with 544,623 units (3.95 per cent).
