Two families have received the keys to their new homes ahead of Christmas with the help of Proven and Food for the Poor (FFP) Jamaica.

The two of four beneficiaries who recently got their homes include a family of 13 in St Elizabeth and an elderly man in St James.

The family of 13 previously lived in a wooden structure that was being eaten by termites; the flooring was badly cracked, and the roof was unable to adequately shield the family from heavy rainfall.

The other recipient, an elderly Lloyd Isaacs, once occupied a dilapidated single-room rental with his partner and care-giver.

Proven last month committed $2 million to build four homes for the indigent in partnership with FFP Jamaica. The entities will shortly hand over the two other homes to beneficiaries in the corporate area.

“At Proven we will continue to deliver on our mandate of success and performance; whilst we develop the community in which we serve and contribute to Jamaica’s development on a whole,” Proven said in a release.
