Property fencing being pushed back for Hagley Park Road project

With the expansion of the Hagley Park Road corridor in St Andrew now on in earnest, including bridge-building works in the area of Portia Simpson Miller Square at Three Miles, wide-scale moves are afoot to relocate the fencing of a number of businesses along the roadway.

Workmen from China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) are out in numbers erecting new fencing for premises on Haglay Park Road, all further away from the existing road surface than the previous fencing.

The Hagley Park Road Improvement Project will involve approximately 3.7 kilometres of roadway being widened between Maxfield Avenue and Portia Simpson Miller Square.

The changes at the Three Miles intersection will include two overpass bridges.

Hagley Park Road is slated to be expanded to a four-lane format with a median separating traffic going in the opposite directions.

Photographer Llewellyn Wynter recently visited the area and captured some of the developments which have definitely signalled the intensification of the works on the project.
