Probe launched into multi-million dollar armed robberies in Santa Cruz

The St Elizabeth police have launched a probe into the armed robbery of more than $5 million dollars from two establishments on Main Street in Santa Cruz in the parish on Monday, February 24.

Reports from the Santa Cruz police are that about 9.30 am, four armed men entered an establishment and disarmed a security guard of a .38 revolver and six rounds of ammunition.

It is further reported that the assailants made their way to a section of the building, said to be of a financial service entity, where they took approximately $5 million.

Additionally, the men reportedly went to another building, from where they stole an undetermined amount of cash.

The police are appealing to anyone with information who can assist in the investigation to contact the Santa Cruz Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) at 876-966-6041, Crime Stop at 311, the police 119 emergency number, or the nearest police station.
