Power outages for sections of St Catherine, Clarendon on Monday

Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) has announced planned outages to conduct repairs and maintenance tasks to foster reliable supply in the future, in sections of St Catherine and Clarendon.

The outages are planned for Monday, June 29, from 9am to 5pm.

The work will result in a disruption in electricity supply in the following areas of both parishes:

New Harbour Village four, Presidential Estate ,The Aviary Housing scheme, Bodles Research Centre, Newport Genetics; Bodles Crescent, Port Esquivel, Hi-Pro Feeds Factory, Freetown, Longsville Park Housing scheme, Toby Heights, Salt River Road, Palmetto Meadows, Palmetto Pen, Palmetto Gardens, Rosewell Road, Sandy Bay, Nineteen Miles.

The power company apologised for the inconvenience to be caused by the outages during the challenging ongoing times nationally, but cited the maintenance work “is of a critical nature and we did not make the decision lightly”.

It also said every effort will be made to restore power to the affected areas in the shortest possible time.
