Portmore, Waterhouse take on Haitians in Caribbean Club Championship
Jamaican top clubs Portmore United and Waterhouse will be in action on the opening day of the 2019 Flow Concacaf Caribbean Club Championship at the Stadium East, in Kingston, Jamaica.
The Jamaican clubs will open their campaign against Haitian clubs.
Portmore United, back-to-back champions of Jamaica's top tier football competition - the Red Stripe Premier League -, will first be in action at 5:30 pm against Real Hope FA.
Waterhouse, which finished as runners-up to Portmore United in back-to-back finals of Jamaica's top tier football competition, will take the field at 8:00 pm against AS Capoise.
The competition for professional Caribbean clubs is scheduled to take place from May 12-19, at the Stadium East.
The winner of the 2019 Flow Concacaf Caribbean Club Championship will qualify directly to the 2020 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League, while the runner-up and third place finishers will qualify for the 2019 Scotiabank Concacaf League.
The fourth-place finisher will face S.V. Robinhood (SUR), winner of the 2019 Caribbean Club Shield, in a playoff match to determine the third club that will represent the Caribbean in the 2019 Scotiabank Concacaf League.
Jamaican team Harbour View was crowned Caribbean champions in 2007. Last year, Arnett Gardens finished as runners-up last year.
