Portmore United beat Cavalier 3-0 to qualify for RSPL final
Title favourites Portmore United have book their spot in the final of the 2017-2018 Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL).
The Linval Dixon-coached team made the big step towards winning the title by whipping Cavalier 3-0 in their second-leg semi-final match at Spanish Town Prison Oval on Sunday.
The result means that Portmore United won the two-way tie 3-0 on aggregate after the teams had battled to a 0-0 draw last Sunday at the Stadium East field.
Portmore United, last season's beaten finalists, will play either defending champions Arnett Gardens or Waterhouse in the final.
Waterhouse secured the only advantage going into the second-leg semi-final fixtures by defeating Arnett Gardens 1-0 last Monday night at the Drewsland Stadium.
Arnett Gardens will host the second-leg semi-final fixture at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex on Monday, starting at 8:35 pm.
Javon East set up the victory for Portmore United with a goal in each half. East handed Portmore United an early lead in the fifth minute and closed his double in the 72nd minute.
Jermie Lynch sealed the victory a minute after East had achieved his double.
