Portmore in pictures as residents observe early curfew
There was almost no one in sight in Portmore, St Catherine by mid-afternoon Saturday as residents of the 'Sunshine City' adhered to the Easter holiday curfew imposed by government to contain the spread of the deadly COVID-19.
There was an eerie silence as Loop News toured parts of the municipality between 3.30 and 4pm. From the entrance to the toll road to Passage Fort, everyday life in the usually vibrant city was brought to a standstill.
It was in stark contrast to Kingston where a mad rush among motorists to get home before the 3pm curfew caused gridlock in streets of the nation's capital that lasted past the cut-off time.
