Police have released an image of the black Toyota Wish motor vehicle which was used by a motorist to mow down a cop in New Kingston on Thursday morning.

The image of the vehicle, licensed PJ 6379, was captured by closed circuit television (CCTV) connected to the Jamaica Eye surveillance network. 

Police report that their colleague's leg is broken in two places and he has a range of other injuries. A manhunt has been launched for the criminal(s).

A police source also told Loop News that the driver of the motorcar also threatened to mow down other officers who attempted to stop him after he ran over their colleague.

The car is believed to have been used to commit a number of robberies in the business district as well as in a number of other communities in the Corporate Area including Hope Pastures and Mona.

Police have also issued an appeal to the public via social media urging them to come forward with information if they know the identities of the men involved.
