Police raids land Ruel Reid, Fritz Pinnock and others in custody

Early morning raids on Wednesday at a number of premises, including the homes of former Minister of Education, Youth and Information, Ruel Reid, and President of the Caribbean Maritime University (CMU), Professor Fritz Pinnock, have resulted in both men, along with other persons, being taken into police custody.

This amidst the ongoing probe into a major scandal that has engulfed both the ministry and the CMU.

A top-level police officer confirmed the raids, stating that police teams are currently at the homes of Reid and Pinnock in connection with the probe that is being led by the Financial Investigation Division (FID).

The officer also confirmed the several persons, including both men, have been taken into custody.
