Police kill alleged gunmen on ‘Back Road’ in Portmore

The police on Friday morning shot and killed two unidentified men on Port Henderson Road in Portmore, which is more popularly called ‘Back Road’.

According to the police, a team of officers in a service vehicle was conducting patrol at about 5am, when they spotted a suspicious looking vehicle with two men aboard exiting the toll road.

The vehicle was driven into a vacant lot with the police team in tow, and on the approach of the law enforcers, the men in the car reportedly fired on the police, resulting in in a shootout.

The men were hit and during a search was conducted, one was allegedly found clutching a nine-millimetre pistol.

They were both subsequently pronounced dead.
