Police confirm burnt body found in Clarendon is Chinese businessman's

The business operator whose burnt remains were found in Clarendon on Tuesday has been identified.

He is 50-year-old Yiyong Liu, owner of a wholesale in Guinep Tree, May Pen.

Reports are that about 6am, the burnt remains of the man was found at his business establishment.  His cause of death was not immediately known, but police insiders say foul play is suspected.

The discovery triggered shockwaves across the parish that has been under a state of emergency since last month.

Interestingly, Liu's business facility is located across the road from a supermarket that was the scene of a dramatic shootout between police officers and heavily armed robbers in May.
