Photos: Marie Atkins Night Shelter gets support from D&G Foundation

The Desnoes & Geddes Foundation together with the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) recently donated $60,000 to the Marie Atkins Night Shelter, which provides food and shelter to more than 300 people.

The presentation was made by Dianne Ashton-Smith, Director, D&G Foundation to Mavis Farquharson, Inspector of Poor, Marie Atkins Night Shelter.

Also in attendance were Desmond McKenzie, Minister of Local Government & Community Development; Robert Hill, Town Clerk, Kingston & St. Andrew Municipal Corporation and Sherlock Glenister, Deputy General Manager, UDC.

Along with the cash donation, Red Stripe staffers also donated clothing to shelter residents. The D&G Foundation has also pledged to support the shelter with monthly supplies of Malta, its non-alcohol malt drink.
